Purpose:  Describe

Write a complete paragraph about a person who has influenced you in positive ways.  Focus on at least one way in which this person has made an important impact upon you.  Use specific ideas and examples to illustrate your points and make sure to refer to the Paragraph Structure chart located at the end of the Unit 4 Reading.  Include a topic sentence, supporting details and a conclusion (minimum 5 complete sentences).

One person who has always influenced me in life is my friend Matthew Hales. He is quite strange in many ways, his weird interests, his taste in music, and his love of computerMost simply: a machine for performing calculations automatically. More accurately: a programmable device that performs calculations and logical operations based on a set of instructions. May typically access, process and store large amounts of data very rapidly. software. He is the only person I know that has so much passion for everything he does. He often takes everything and oversimplifies it to the point he knows the application inside and out. Doing this he finds the brilliance in everything quite naturally, though all he had to is this one little thing. I admire him for that for most people take the quick way and learn as they go, but Matt Hales, does not.

I'm not that strange... of course, I don't know that I could really know, looking from the inside and all..

I see a bit of myself in you, I guess.  You seem to me the person I might have been had I not taken everything so seriously.  I try to let things go, but usually just can't.  The "passion" you speak of feels more like obsession, I'd really love to not have to find out how things work.  I've always admired your no-bullshit take on life, in general, and your ability to let things slide.  You seem to enjoy life, all of it, and, while everyone has their problems, you tend pick your battles like Sun Tzu.

One always tends to not see his own merits and is his own worst judge.  I take what you've said above as a great compliment as you are one of the most genuine people I know.
