Comics, interactive entertainment, popularity and content, content, content!
We need to start the comic. We need to get a fair library of Audio and Video content to complement the respectable Image Gallery we already have. Once there is something there to work with, we will be able to get into play lists, separation by genre, and other trickery to make it look more organized than it really is. Ink is, however, heavily one-sided at the moment and this requires attention.
We'd very much like to see at least some conceptual work done on the video game, but until the tabletop mechanics are playable, that's just not going to happen. So, that section of Worlds needs to get hammered down and to do that we're going to need playtesting, lengthy debates, and spare time. Not only that, we also need to better define the Paradigm(s), work on unlocking the Multiverse, and introduce some key players, technologies, locations, and organizations.
Words is doing very well, but is poetry heavy. We need more short stories and could stand to get some serial novels going. The organization there is practically non-existent but, honestly, until we have something to work with, we have no clear idea how to slot it all together. It's sort of like building with imaginary blocks in that one can create beauty in the absence of things like mass and gravity; apply theory to real-world physics and everything may very well come crashing down.
We need site feedback, desperately! We need to know what works and does not, where links are broken, where past features are missed and new ones annoy...
The absolute bottom line to most of the above is: We need more members! While some of us may be foaming at the mouth with zealous fury in trying to convince people to join up, those individuals are the rarest among us. Right now we need word of mouth a lot more than we need advertising. We don't need a slew of talented strangers nearly as much as we require dedicated friends and acquaintances. Mr.Hales desperately needs more Architects to help share the burden!
We need to figure out how to get the word out that we intend to become known as the site that pays you to use it without having to offer any sort of evidence or even a detailed plan. We have no evidence to offer (because we are seriously not turning a profit here) and we have no idea how this is all going to pan out to be bluntly honest. The current thinking is to base such rewards on user points. Basically the larger percentage of all points earned on the site one has, the larger percentage of site profits one will share in. This has been the plan all along, really, to see enough profits that active members of the site share in those financial rewards. The point system, of course, favors Contributors, but even Tourists stand to see some form of monetary gain simply by logging in regularly, commenting where appropriate, and maybe even maintaining a blog.
This is, by the way, why the Benevolent Dictator is so ruthless about inactive accounts. Seriously, if you bring nothing to the table, expect to go away empty-handed, you know?
