    There are a very few things that make all men (and women and dogs and spiders and amoebas) equal, that make all life (animal, at least) brothers and sisters and sexless siblings in life:  birth, respiration, procreation, consumption, digestion, excretion, and death. That is to say, all life (animal life, at least, but a lot of other things, too) is, in some manner, born and goes on to, in its own way, breathe, reproduce, eat, defecate and die. It is the second and second to last we are concerned with here.
